September 30, 2022: Updates, plans, and meetups

It’s been a few weeks since we launched the ASU Future of Being Human community, and I thought it was a good time to post a quick update to let you know what’s been going in.

We are at the very beginning of a five year plan to build up a community of creative and bold thinkers around the the future of being human, and so there’s not a whole lot to report yet. However, we have a website, we are beginning to attract people to what is shaping up to be a really stimulating community, and we’ve held our first event!

Over the next few months we’ll be focusing very specifically on community meetups on the ASU campus in Tempe. If you’re local (or passing through) and want to join us, please do! As well as being listed on the Events page, we’ll be sending out notices to folks on our email list who’ve expressed an interest in attending these meetups, so please do add your name if you haven’t already.

This is only the start though. Looking forward, we will be extending these meetups to other areas, and even taking them virtual. We’re also planning larger events, collaborations with other futures-focused organizations and initiatives, and a rather rad undergrad course on the future of being human!

In the meantime, we’re continuing to grow the community, so if you know of someone who may be interested in what we’re doing, please do point them our way.

Thanks!
