Spring 2023 Meetup Lineup

We’re excited to publish the lineup of Future of Being Human meetups planned for Tempe, Arizona in Spring 2023. Further details can be found on the Future of Being Human Meetups Page.

These are open to anyone who wants to attend, whether you are part of the ASU community or not. The only qualifier to that is that space is limited and we will fill the room on a first come first served basis!

We’re not asking people to register before the meetups this semester, so please make sure you add them to your calendar if you are interested in attending (Calendar links are available on each meetup’s web page). We will also be sending out reminders to folks signed up to the Future of Being Human email list.

Additional Information

Future of Being Human meetups are informal and lively meetings where attendees get the opportunity to connect with others and discuss different aspects of being human in a technologically complex future. Anyone who is curious about the future, is excited to discuss it with others, and is willing to explore bold and audacious ideas in casual environment, is very welcome to join us!

As these are discussion meetings there is typically not an identified speaker or a pre-prepared presentation. Rather, you as the participants provide the ideas and insights, guided by a discussion moderator.

Meetups are guided by the Future of Being Human Guiding Principles, as well as “three do’s and a don’t” to facilitate open, inclusive and creative discussion:

  • Do come ready to enjoy, learn from, and be inspired by, a diversity of ideas, perspectives and ways of seeing and understanding the world.
  • Do practice a yes-and attitude as you affirm and build on the perspectives and ideas of others.
  • Do find value in the company and the conversation.
  • Don’t academic-splain!
